Is NB Power still offering the EV Home Charger Package?
NB Power is no longer offering the EV Home Charger Package for new installations. We continue to support customers who already have an EV Home Charger installed through NB Power.
What does this change mean for existing customers?
If you already have an EV Home Charger installed through NB Power, nothing changes for you. We remain committed to providing ongoing support, maintenance, and service in line with your original agreement.
Will NB Power continue to provide service and support for my EV charger?
Yes. NB Power will continue to support existing EV Home Charger customers including maintenance-related questions and warranty or repair coverage, where applicable.
What EV charger do I have?
NB Power installed the Grizzl-E Level 2 Smart Charger as part of the EV Home Charger Package. This charger is known for its durability, reliability, and suitability for Canadian climates.
Can the Grizzl-E charger work with all electric vehicles?
Yes. The Grizzl-E Smart Charger is compatible with most electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles that use a standard J1772 connector. Tesla vehicles can use the charger with a J1772-to-Tesla adapter.
What level of charging does the Grizzl-E charger provide?
The Grizzl-E charger is a Level 2 charging station. It provides between 16 amps and 40 amps of continuous output, depending on your specific configuration, allowing for faster home charging compared to a standard wall outlet.
Is my charger covered by a warranty?
Yes. The offered charger is covered by a 3-year replacement warranty. The Grizzl-E EV charger is made with high-quality components and goes through rigorous quality assurance throughout the production process. If any issue with the performance of the product arises, the manufacturer will replace it free of charge within 1-5 business days. The warranty will not apply if the product has been misused, abused, or altered. The warranty for the cable does not include normal tear and wear. Plugs that have been exposed to snow or water for a prolonged period of time are not covered by this warranty. The warranty will apply only if the charger is defective. The 3-year manufacturer warranty is not transferable and applies only to the first buyer/owner.
I purchased the Worry-Free Repair and Replacement Plan. Is it still valid?
Yes. If you previously purchased the optional Worry-Free Repair and Replacement Plan, your coverage remains in place under the original terms, as long as your account is in good standing. The Plan covers the charger and labour due to any product defects or installation issues under normal operating conditions. You will have full warranty as long as they stay enrolled in the Plan on a month-to-month basis for up to 10 years. You may cancel your enrolment in the Worry-Free Repair and Replacement Plan at any time.
Is my EV charger bi-directional?
No. The Grizzl-E charger installed through NB Power is not a bi-directional charger.
